The YARD Reading Series presents The Waiting Room, a dark comedy by Lisa Loomer about the timeless quest for beauty and its cost. Three women from different centuries meet in a modern doctor’s waiting room. The work is a wild ride through medical and sexual politics, questioning standards of beauty within every woman’s world.

The YARD Reading Series and the Gay-Straight Alliance present Take Me Out, a play by Richard Greenberg that focuses on Darren Lemming, a handsome, young, African-American heavy-hitting Major League Baseball player who abruptly declares his homosexuality at a press conference at the height of his stardom.

Two showings of a 1992 Oscar-nominated best foreign language film that depicts China in the 1920s. The film follows a young woman who serves in the concubine of a wealthy man in order to survive after her father’s death.
