At Juilliard, our faculty is our most important resource. The School’s 200-plus full- and part-time members include internationally renowned soloists, chamber, and orchestral musicians; pre-eminent jazz artists; recipients of Pulitzer Prizes, Academy and Grammy Awards, and other prestigious prizes; leading dance and theater professionals; and distinguished pedagogues and scholars. Their skills, talent, and dedication are the cornerstone of the learning experience for our students.
Juilliard’s student-faculty ratio of approximately three to one ensures small class sizes and a high degree of personalized attention for each student. Students also enjoy informal networking opportunities with faculty members, who often provide recommendations for outside jobs and even invite their students to perform with them. Many faculty members participate in Juilliard’s unique interdisciplinary Mentoring Program, fostering a stronger sense of community as they help guide students in their personal, intellectual, and artistic development.
