Description: In these classes, students explore classical piano technique, style, interpretation, memorization, and performance practice in a master-class setting. These group classes are limited to six students per section. All levels from beginning to advanced are welcome. Active listening, discussion, and attention are critical elements of group piano classes. Informal performances are given throughout the semester. Prerequisite: A basic knowledge of rhythmic values (i.e. whole note, half note, quarter note, eighth note, etc.) and the ability to sight-read at the piano in both treble and bass clefs. Auditions are required to place students in the proper level course. Not subject to N.Y. Philharmonic discount.
