A two-semester course
Description:

In these classes, students explore classical piano technique, style, interpretation, memorization, and performance practice in a master-class setting. These group classes are limited to six students per section. All levels from beginning to advanced are welcome. Active listening, discussion, and attention are critical elements of group piano classes. Informal performances are given throughout the semester. Prerequisite: The ability to play the following major/minor scales: C, G, D, A, E. Auditions are required to place students in the proper level course. Not subject to N.Y. Philharmonic discount.

Suggested audition repertoire:
Agay – Easy Classics to Moderns, Vol. 17 or 27
Bach – The Little Preludes from the Notebooks of Anna Magdalena Bach
Sonatinas by Clementi, Kuhlau, or the equivalent

Spring Semester: January 6 and 7, 4:30 – 7:30 pm
