Biographical Information:
Artistic director, Bowdoin International Music Festival. Founding member, violinist, Aeolian Chamber Players. Taught as associate to Ivan Galamian 1976-1981. Annual tours in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Chamber music and conducting appearances with Michael Rabin, Jaime Laredo, Szymon Goldberg, Richard Goode, Rudolf Firkusny, Murray Perahia, and others. Premiered more than 50 works. Numerous television appearances. Recordings for Columbia, CRI, Folkways, and Odyssey Records. Served on juries of many international competitions including Queen Elisabeth, Brussels; Fritz Kreisler, Vienna; Mozart, Salzburg; Naumberg, New York; Tokyo and Sendai, Japan. Violin faculties, International Summer Academy Mozarteum Salzburg, since 1987; Mannes College the New School for Music, since 1986; visiting professor, Royal College of Music, London, since 1998.
