Winner, 55th Japan Music Competition, Tokyo, 1986; International Winds and Percussion Competition, Tokyo, 1985; bronze medalist and Golden Harp Award, International Jeunesses Musicales Competition, Belgrade, 1987. Recitals in Casals Hall and Keoi Hall, Tokyo. Music festivals: Schloss Moritzburg, Germany; Kirishima, Mt. Fuji, Japan. Active in new music, with premieres of Suzuki, Yasuraoka, Nakagawa, and with historical instruments and performance practice. Member of the period instrument wind ensemble Mozzafiato. Recordings: Sony, Vivarte, Toshiba, EMI, Victor. Faculty, SUNY-Purchase, Mannes College the New School for Music.
