Early studies in his native Chile with Elena Waiss. Scholarship student, Musikhochschule, Munich. Fulbright studies, Juilliard, with Albert Fuller. M.S., D.M.A., The Juilliard School.
Biographical Information:
Solo recitals in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Frick Collection, Alice Tully Hall, and Merkin Concert Hall, as well as in Boston, Washington, and other U.S. cities. Has appeared in the U.S. with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Waverly Consort, and Y Chamber Symphony, among other ensembles, and abroad with the English Chamber Orchestra, German Bach Soloists, South German Chamber Orchestra, and Collegium Instrumentale of the Gewandhaus of Leipzig. Current member, New York Philharmonic, where he was
soloist under Erich Leinsdorf in Poulenc's Concert Champêtre (1991) and under Sir Colin Davis in Frank Martin's Petite Symphonie Concertante (2001). Member of La Mela di Newton, a Baroque trio. First-prize winner in the Leipzig Bach Competition, 1972. Current harpsichord faculty, the Curtis Institute.
