B.M., M.S., The Juilliard School; studies with Saul Goodman, Elden (Buster) Bailey, and James Wimer.

Biographical Information:
Soloist, New York Philharmonic, American Composers Orchestra, New York Chamber Symphony. Performances: Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, Speculum Musicae, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (with whom he recorded Bartok's Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion for Delos). With Robert Craft, performed music of Stravinsky, including recordings of Les Noces, Histoire du Soldat, and Renard. Plays extensively with New York Philharmonic; performed with Chicago Symphony, London Symphony, London, Royal Philharmonics, many others. Performed/recorded with jazz, rock, world, and popular musicians, including Miles Davis, Ravi Shankar, Michael Jackson, Steely Dan, Paul Winter, Sting, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder. Has recorded for more than 50 record companies, for television, radio/theater, and more than 175 feature films. Lifetime participant, Império Serrano Escola de Samba, Rio de Janeiro.
