B.A., Princeton U., summa cum laude; M.A., Ph.D., Eastman School of Music. Composition studies with Samuel Adler, Warren Benson, David Liptak, Steven Mackey, Christopher Rouse, and Joseph Schwantner.

Biographical Information:
Commissions include works for the Albany Symphony, Seattle Symphony, New York Youth Symphony, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Absolute Ensemble, Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, Arc Duo, Relāche, Cassatt Quartet, Corigliano Quartet, Brooklyn Youth Chorus, and Greenwich Choral Society. Recipient of two BMI Student Composer Awards, the Bearns Prize, and an ASCAP Morton Gould Award. Future commissions include works for violinist James Dickenson, the American Brass Quintet, and the wind ensembles of the "Big 12" universities. Music published by Boosey & Hawkes and recorded on the Enja, Mark, and Summit labels. Associate professor of music, CUNY-Hunter College.
