Commissioned Opera Receives Premiere Lowell Liebermann and Sandy McClatchy Adapt West's novella Miss Lonelyhearts. The opera will be performed by the Juilliard Opera Center on April 26, 28, and 30, in a production conducted by Andreas Delfs and directed by Ken Cazan.
Juilliard's 3 Divisions Simultaneously Tour the U.S. Juilliard will be celebrating its 100th birthday "on the move" in March. As part of the School's ongoing anniversary season, the Juilliard Dance Ensemble, the Group 35 actors, the Juilliard Jazz Orchestra, and the Juilliard Orchestra are crisscrossing the United States between March 2 and 26 in the School's first-ever national tour of all three artistic divisions.
Juilliard Second Century Fund Announced $77 million in new gifts have been made to the Juilliard Second Century Fund. The fund, formerly called The Campaign for Juilliard, was renamed when the School's board of trustees voted on May 10, 2005, to give it a more apt identity and raise the goal to $300 million from $150 million.

EUROPEAN TOUR, AUGUST 2005 The Juilliard Orchestra ushered in the centennial touring program by performing in Finland, Switzerland, Germany, and England, under the batons of James DePreist and Sir Colin Davis, while jazz students traveled to Costa Rica and Japan.
THE 100th COMMENCEMENT On May 20, 2005, Juilliard held its 100th commencement—and officially launched the School's centennial celebrations.
