Performance Activities

Juilliard415 is the School's primary period-instrument ensemble and performs works from the 17th and 18th centuries in concert venues at Lincoln Center and beyond. Juilliard415's performances are led by distinguished resident and guest artists such as Monica Huggett, Nicolas McGegan, William Christie, and Harry Bicket.

Recent and planned repertoire performed by Juilliard415 (partial list):

  • Monteverdi: L'Incoronazione di Poppea (fully staged)
  • Handel: Saeviat tellus inter rigores, HWV 240
  • Bach: Cantata 82a, "Ich habe genug"; St. Matthew Passion, BWV 244
  • Wassaenaer: Concerti armonici
  • Rameau: Suite from Les Indes galantes
  • Purcell: Dido and Aeneas

Chamber music groups are prepared for performance through individualized coachings with the Historical Performance faculty.

Collaborations with Juilliard Vocal Arts, including fully staged operas, offer ample opportunities to explore the rich repertoire of early vocal music.

Esteemed guest artists such as William Christie and Jordi Savall offer intensive, repertoire-focused residencies that culminate in public performances.
