Accelerated B.M./M.M. Program

Juilliard undergraduates in the Bachelor of Music degree may apply to enter an accelerated program in which they begin the first year of the master’s degree during the final year of undergraduate study. Application must be made by December 1 in the year prior to that final year of undergraduate study. Successful applicants may then complete the Master of Music degree in one year beyond the bachelor’s degree.

This is a highly selective program for the strongest students. Applicants must have no more than two courses remaining to complete the bachelor’s degree, grades no lower than A- in the major field of study and other performance-related activities, and grades no lower than B in all course work for the previous two consecutive terms. Applications are available in the Registrar’s Office and must be returned to that office by December 1. Preliminary review of applications will take place in January after fall grades have been reported. Students who pass that review will be scheduled for an audition during the March audition period. Final evaluations will be made in May after spring grades have been reported.
