On Wednesday, December 7, 2011, Friends of the Library patrons and their guests were treated to a special presentation by professor emeritus of Harvard University and one of the world's leading Beethoven scholars, Dr. Lewis Lockwood. The presentation, titled "Late Stages: The Autograph Manuscript of Beethoven's String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 127: Scherzo" examined the work in depth and also featured excerpts performed by Juilliard's graduate resident string quartet, the Attacca Quartet.
