Juilliard Juniors: A Day With Dance
On January 28 Juilliard hosted its first Juilliard Juniors event for families with young children. Juilliard Juniors is a new event series that lets young New Yorkers experience unique artistic and educational programs created by Juilliard students and faculty. This first Juilliard Juniors event, “A Day with Dance,” was an opportunity for kids to join Juilliard dance students for a fun and interactive Juilliard dance experience. Juilliard dancers performing tap, ballroom, ballet, and modern dance was interspersed with colorful descriptions and educational excersizes. At the end kids were given an opportunity to create their own dances using the terminology and dance styles they just experienced — dancing with each other and the Juilliard dancers.
