Be sure to include a note with any special instructions for designating
your contribution, and how we can contact you to acknowledge your gift.
Donate Stock
Many donors take advantage of donating appreciated securities to make
charitable gifts. If the securities have been owned for more than a
year, one can take a tax deduction based on the current market value
of the stock and avoid any capital gain tax on the appreciation.
The easiest way to donate stock is to have the shares transferred electronically
by your broker to The Juilliard School. The value of your gift will
be the average of the high and low trading price on the day the stock
is transferred to Juilliard.
If the securities are held by a bank or broker . . .
You or your broker should provide us with your name and address, the
name and number of securities to be transferred and the bank or brokerage
firm from which they are being transferred. You may download a PDF version
of our securities
gift notification form (Adobe Acrobat Reader required), provide
a letter, or send an e-mail to: development@juilliard.edu.
We will be happy to forward instructions on how to complete the transfer.
If you have physical possession of the stock or bond certificates .

Send the certificates to Juilliard by certified or registered mail
or by overnight carrier. Do not endorse the certificate or make any
notations to Juilliard on the certificate.
In a separate envelope, send a stock/bond power form filling in only
your signature but no other information.
