Membership in the JUILLIARD JAZZ NOTABLES directly supports the students of Juilliard Jazz. 

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2010, the Jazz Studies program at Juilliard offers students the highest level of excellence in jazz music education. Juilliard Jazz students have access to the best performers and teachers in both the jazz and classical worlds. The Juilliard Jazz Orchestra and Juilliard Jazz Ensembles regularly appear at national and international venues including the Blue Note, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and the Detroit Jazz Festival. Juilliard Jazz has toured across the United States and abroad in Japan, Spain, Costa Rica, and Qatar.

Juilliard Jazz Notables Levels and Benefits

Apprentice  - $500 or more  
($475 is tax-deductible) 
  • Invitations for two to three Jazz Notables "behind-the-scenes" events (fall, holiday, spring) featuring Juilliard Jazz students, alumni faculty, and other celebrated leaders in the arts including past guest artists such as trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard and bassist John Clayton
  • Personalized ticket service by telephone, e-mail, or mail with no service charge
  • Advance ticket purchase for special Juilliard performances, including Juilliard galas and Carnegie Hall concerts
  • 10% discount at the Juilliard Bookstore
  • A subscription to the Members' Calendar of Events and The Juilliard Journal, published eight times a year
Sideman  - $1,000 or more  
 ($967 is tax-deductible)

All of the Apprentice privileges plus:

  • Special recognition in Juilliard performance programs and donor listings throughout the year
Co-Leader  - $2,500 or more  
($2,467 is tax-deductible) 

All of the Sideman privileges plus:

  • Invitations for two to Juilliard Jazz master classes not open to the general public (past master class instructors have included producer Tommy LiPuma and trombonist Robin Eubanks)
  • 25% discount on classes offered by Juilliard's Evening Division
Bandleader  - $5,000 or more  
($4,807 is tax-deductible) 

All of the Co-Leader privileges plus:

  • Opportunity for two to attend an ensemble rehearsal or recording session featuring Juilliard Jazz students, faculty, and guest artists
  • Opportunity for two to attend a dinner in the President's Office overlooking Lincoln Center
Promoter's Circle - $10,000 or more  
($9,737 is tax-deductible) 

All of the Bandleader privileges plus:

  • Opportunity to observe a Juilliard Jazz improvisation class in progress (class selection dependent on faculty approval)
  • Invitation for two to Juilliard's Commencement ceremonies and luncheon honoring distinguished recipients of honorary doctorates
  • Personalized booking services to arrange for a performance by a Juilliard student, duo or trio, at a private party in your home
