Recent Events

Bedrich Smetana’s The Bartered Bride, a joint production of Juilliard and the Metropolitan Opera, was directed by Stephen Wadsworth with James Levine conducting the Juilliard Orchestra and Benjamin Millepied as choreographer. Alumni and current students from Juilliard’s Ellen and James S. Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts and the Met’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program came together with Juilliard dance students to perform the celebrated comic opera. In this photo, the Ringmaster (Juilliard tenor Noah Baetge, standing, left) and Esmeralda (Joyce El-Khoury, center) look on as the Bearded Lady (Juilliard tenor Miles Mykkanen) does a split. Other recent events included Juilliard's annual ChamberFest, the New York Festival of Song, and Fourth-Year Drama Rep, among others.
