Commencement 2011: John Adams Addresses the Newest Graduates Composer and conductor John Adams thanked the graduating class of 2011 for becoming artists at Juilliard’s 106th commencement exercises, which took place on Friday, May 20, at Alice Tully Hall. Adams, along with dancer and choreographer Twyla Tharp, jazz musician Herbie Hancock, and actor Derek Jacobi received honorary doctorates. |
