Since 2015, The Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Collaboration has created multifaceted experiences that provide an innovative performing arts education curriculum for students in grades K–12. Over the past 6 years, we have developed the Juilliard Approach to K–12 Classroom Instruction to take this curriculum from concept to implementation, enriching the classroom experience for 50,000+ students across Nord Anglia Education’s global network of schools.

Juilliard in the Classroom

Juilliard curriculum specialists frequently visit NAE schools around the world to bring excellence into classrooms and ignite students’ love of the performing arts.

  • Juilliard curriculum specialists are experienced educators and artists who have expertise in the Juilliard approach to classroom instruction, teacher collaboration, and Juilliard Creative Classroom resources. In addition to supporting NAE teachers to successfully implement the enhanced curriculum, curriculum specialists engage the school community by co-leading workshops with teachers for parents and school staff, providing professional development opportunities, coaching student ensembles, and leading rehearsals and class discussions.

  • Ask the Artist Throughout the year, Juilliard alumni are engaged to connect with the NAE community of students to share insights on the life of a working artist. Actors, dancers, musicians, and creators of all kinds share their professional work and answer questions from students all over the world via video.

Programs for Advanced Study

Juilliard has created technical training programs with Nord Anglia Education for students who wish to advance their skill-based learning in the performing arts.

  • Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard offers immersive experiences in dance, drama, and music to 10–18 year olds from around the world. Students explore their creative talent in an intensive setting with focus on both private instruction and ensemble work. With three tailored programs offered in Geneva, Florida, and Shanghai, young artists have a special opportunity to engage with and learn from Juilliard artist faculty.

  • In addition to summer programs, the Winter Festival offers a 2-day weekend experience in the Juilliard Virtual Studios. Students experience a condensed version of the summer programs, learning dance, piano, or musical theater from Juilliard artist faculty. This unique experience offers dedicated studio time, technique classes, and topical seminars ensuring that students get the most out of the weekend workshops.

“I really liked how I was able to learn new techniques, and be able to apply them to my work. I will never forget the advice I received from my teachers and friends this summer!”
