Kovner Fellows benefit not only from financial support but also from significantly enhanced programmatic content with the goal of developing future leaders in the arts.

Kovner Fellows are chosen by the Kovner Selection Committee based on faculty and departmental recommendations and the following criteria:

  1. Artistic merit of the highest caliber
  2. A successful academic history
  3. Personal capacity for intellectual curiosity, commitment to the value of art in society, and potential for leadership in the field

Fellowships are open to classical music applicants who are offered admission and current students in the following programs: Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, Graduate Diploma and Artist Diploma. Current undergraduate classical music students who are entering their third or fourth year of study and current Master of Music, Graduate Diploma, or Artist Diploma candidates entering their second year of study are also eligible. (Dance, Drama, Jazz, and Doctor of Musical Arts programs are not eligible for consideration in this program.)
