CLIMB
(Combining Literacy With Musical Beginnings)
The CLIMB (Combining Literacy Instruction and Musical Beginnings) Program
was launched in the fall of 1999 at Juilliard. Affiliated with the
Music Advancement Program (MAP), CLIMB provides weekly two-hour
tutoring/teaching sessions to children ages 4 to 10 who are siblings
of MAP students. Teachers stress phonics, reading comprehension, and
give a fun introduction to classical music using music vocabulary and
hands-on activities.
