Helpful Information for Families

Tickets to Commencement are very limited. Each graduating student participating in the ceremony will receive two tickets and doctoral candidates are entitled to four tickets. Graduating students will receive their tickets when they submit their cap and gown forms. At that time, students will be able to enter into a ticket lottery for the chance of obtaining ONE additional ticket. That lottery will take place in April.

Please be advised, tickets to the ceremony are not available for purchase.

There will be a standby line to get into the ceremony on the morning of Commencement. Historically, individuals in the standby line have been able to gain entrance to the ceremony. Additionally, the ceremony will be broadcast to an overflow room in Alice Tully Hall for individuals who were not able to get in from off of the standby line, and on the Juilliard Web site to anyone who wishes to watch from home.

Juilliard welcomes family members and guests with disabilities on Commencement Day. Accessible seating tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Juilliard will make every effort to accommodate parents and guests without accessible seating tickets on the morning of Commencement, however accessible seating is limited and advanced planning is strongly encouraged. Additional questions regarding accessibility accommodation needs for Commencement events should be directed to OASS@juilliard.edu.

The Office of Student Affairs provides a list of nearby hotels of varying prices to all members of the Juilliard community. Hotels marked with an asterisk offer some discount to Juilliard students; however, as some of the hotels that offer a discount are considerably more expensive, you may want to contact many of the hotels to decide which offers the best rate to fulfill your needs. The O.S.A. also provides directions to and from J.F.K., Newark International, and LaGuardia International airports using various means of transportation.
