Orientation

The Office of Student Affairs is busy planning New Student Orientation, a weeklong series of programs to welcome the new students and to ease their transition into the Juilliard community. New Student Orientation includes opportunities to meet other students, staff, administration, and faculty. Workshops and presentations address topics such as safety, diversity, health, financial aid, and student rights. A series of evening socials and outings throughout the city is planned to acclimate students to Juilliard, college life, and New York City.

General Information

All new students are required to attend New Student Orientation. Students participating in orientation are provided meals until the official start of the yearly meal plan. Students will take placement exams, attend division-specific meetings, learn about Juilliard, school policies and resources, and register for classes. During orientation, students will have many opportunities to explore New York City through outings run by orientation leaders. The Orientation Steering Committee plans many events throughout the week for students to meet their classmates, especially those outside their divisions, and to have fun!
