    Community Service Fellowship Program

Applications for the Community Service Fellowship Program will be available in the Office of Educational Outreach (Room 245) beginning Friday, November 2, 2001 for the 2001–2002 academic year. The deadline is Friday, December 14, 2001. Applications are located in the office window. Interviews will be scheduled during the months of January and February 2002, with interview sign-up beginning Monday, December 3, 2001. Students are notified of their status in April. Once accepted into the program, new and returning Fellows are required to attend an orientation/workshop in April.

The Fellowship provides a wonderful opportunity for students to earn money for school by performing in health care facilities in the New York City area. The concerts offer unique performance opportunities and memorable experiences for students as they greatly benefit the health care facilities in the therapeutic care of their patients. Fellows receive a stipend per performance. The program is available to all creative students in music, drama, and dance. Although students fill out individual applications, they are required to apply as a group (chamber music groups, drama groups, dance groups and interdisciplinary groups) and include a group statement describing their presentation. They are also asked to submit a list of repertoire that emphasizes the diversity of their program.

Application deadline is Friday, December 14, 2001.

    Exchange Program

The Juilliard School has an exchange program with the Royal Academy of Music in London.

A returning Juilliard music student will be selected to spend the 2002–2003 academic year at the Royal Academy and a student from the Royal Academy will spend the year at Juilliard.

This is not a funded program, but both students will be eligible for their respective financial aid packages at their home institutions.

Any student who wishes to be considered for this program should contact Dean Clapp’s office by Friday, February 15, 2002.
