The winners of the 2006 student photo competition have been announced. The top three prizes went to first-year dance student Norbert De La Cruz III, for his photo Dancers of a Blue Pond; third-year cello student Jonah Thomas, for Synaesthesia; and doctoral student in flute Jung-Wan Kang, for her untitled photo. They will be given gift certificates for $125, $75, and $25 respectively, to a store of their choice. The winning photos will be used for a 2007-08 calendar to be given to members of the 2007 graduating class in May. Photos by eight other students will appear in the calendar. They are: Jamal Callender, Nigel Campbell, Aaron Carr, Nathan Madden, Johnny Ramey, Sean Rice, Spenser Theberge, and Stephanie Wu. The winners of the contest, which was sponsored by the Office of National Advancement and Alumni Relations, were selected from entries from 31 students who submitted 69 photos in all. The judges for the competition were Ira Rosenblum, director of publications; Gloria Gottschalk, media relations manager in the Communications Office; Karen Raven, director of major and planned gifts; and from the National Advancement and Alumni Relations Office, Jamée Ard, director; Emily Regas, associate director; and Heidi Torvik, development associate. Congratulations to all the winners!
