Juilliard wasted no time before plunging in to its centennial season. The annual opening-day convocation featured speakers and an excerpt of the Eliot Feld commission Sir Isaac's Apples. The annual Bachauer winners' concert was held in September, as was the opening of an exhibit about Juilliard's 100 years at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Pictured are flute faculty member Carol Wincenc and pianist Stephen Gosling (D.M.A. '00, piano) giving the premiere of a specially commissioned flute sonata by Samuel Adler at a performance and reception celebrating the opening of that exhibit: "The Juilliard School, 1905-2005: Celebrating 100 Years."
