65th St. Redevelopment Given a Green Light By IRA ROSENBLUM
After months of hanging in suspension, an ambitious plan to transform 65th Street into a more dynamic and welcoming entrance for Lincoln Center has won approval from the Center's constituents. Construction is set to begin in the spring of 2006 on this project, the first of several that will reshape Lincoln Center over the next decade.

6 Distinguished Artists to Receive Honorary Doctorates
Six distinguished artists will be awarded honorary doctorates at Juilliard’s 99th commencement on May 21. They are: conductor James Conlon (who will deliver the commencement address), pianist and pedagogue Joseph Bloch, actress Dame Judi Dench, choreographer William Forsythe, jazz saxophonist Illinois Jacquet, and composer and conductor John Williams.

Juilliard jazz students really get around—and in March they performed in St. Louis, a city rich in jazz traditions.
