The Juilliard School Highlights Almost 700 Music, Jazz, Dance, And Drama Performances In 2002-03
In its ninety-seven year history The Juilliard School has established this country's standards for education in the performing arts. This season, in addition to almost 700 music (classical and jazz), dance, and drama performances, Juilliard performers move beyond the borders of Lincoln Center. On October 25thFlorida Stage begins a six-week run of Juilliard playwright and alumna Deborah Laufers play The Last Schwartz. The Juilliard Jazz Orchestra also will take their show on the road with a special performance on Wednesday, February 19 at 8 PM, at New Yorks historic jazz club Birdland. In February and March, Juilliard dancers travel to Sarasota, Florida for five performances as part of the Sarasota Ballet Presents... series featuring works of Juilliard choreographers and alumni Charlotte Griffin and Adam Hougland.
