Guest conductor and Juilliard alumnus Ransom Wilson leads the Juilliard Symphony in its opening concert of the 2002-2003 season on Thursday, October 10 at 8 PM in the Juilliard Theater. Juilliards concerto competition winner Grey Fulmer performs Koussevitzkys Concerto in F-sharp Minor for Contrabass and Orchestra, Op. 3. The program also includes Stravinskys Fireworks, Op. 4, and Rachmaninoffs Symphony No. 2 in E Minor, Op. 27.

Double bassist Grey Fulmer has been a student at The Juilliard School since 1999 and is currently studying in the diploma program under the tutelage of Eugene Levinson.Born in Sacramento, California, Grey Fulmer spent his formative years in Bellevue, Washington, a community across Lake Washington from Seattle. At age twelve, he studied with Barry Lieberman, a faculty member at the University of Washington. While in high school he played as principal bass with the University of Washington Orchestra, and frequently participated at the Marrowstone Music Festival in Port Townsend, Washington. Upon the completion of high school he was given a three-year fellowship at the Aspen Music Festival. Grey Fulmer is currently a recipient of Juilliard Alumni Scholarship.
