Many Juilliard offices, classrooms, and studios were relocated to temporary (“swing”) locations within the building.

The “balcony” overlooking 65th Street was removed.

Demolition of the interior of the east side of the building began.

Alice Tully Hall closes on May 1st and is anticipated to re-open in December 2008.

Admissions, Evening Division, Concert Office relocate to temporary "swing" locations within the building.

The Bookstore will close on March 24th and re-open on April 2nd in its new temporary location on West 66th Street, just west of the Juilliard loading dock (148 W. 66th Street)

The Box Office will close on May 25th and re-open on June 4th.  It will remain on the Plaza level but move to a temporary location next to the Walter Reade Theater at the top of the Rose Building escalator.

Juilliard Temporary entrances open on June 4th –
(The Plaza level and 65th Street theater entrances will CLOSE until approximately late 2008.)

1. New main entrance at 144 West 66th Street, with access for the disabled.
2. Plaza level, adjacent to Juilliard's Room 102; plaza level accessible only from West 65th Street stairs, escalator, and elevator.

Installation of curtain wall on South Façade (65th Street).

Demolition begins in the Plaza level and 65th Street theater lobbies to renovate Juilliard’s main entrance and Peter Jay Sharp Theater lobby, and to build the new box office and grand staircase.

The Juilliard Renovation Project is anticipated to be completed with the opening of the newly expanded building.  The expansion includes but is not limited to the following new additions/recreated areas:
