What is open:

The Plaza Level entrance to Juilliard’s Main Lobby and the 65th Street (theater) entrance are currently under construction. They are closed and inaccessible until approximately late 2008.

The new temporary main entrance to the school and Peter Jay Sharp Theater is now located at 144 West 66th Street (between Broadway and Amsterdam).

A secondary entrance is also open on Plaza level on the north side of the Juilliard building between Paul Hall and Room 102.

The elevator, stairs, and escalator on the Amsterdam (west) side of 65th Street/Plaza Walkway will remain open for access to the entrances of the Rose Building, Walter Reade Theater, The Juilliard School (secondary entrance) and its Box Office.

How to access this:

From Broadway
The sidewalks on both the north and south sides of 65th Street remain open to pedestrian traffic. If on North side of 65th Street: Walk west (toward Amsterdam) and turn right just past the large black “FILM” banner overhead. You will see a guard booth and the elevator, stairs, and escalator.

If on the South side of 65th Street: Walk west (toward Amsterdam) to the midblock crosswalk. Cross to the North side and follow the directions above.

From the Lincoln Center campus (across 65th Street from the Juilliard building) From the North Plaza/Reflecting Pool area, you can either

1. Take the stairs adjacent to Avery Fisher Hall down to 65th Street. Walk west (toward Amsterdam) and follow the directions above for the South side of 65th Street.
   or
2. Walk toward the Lincoln Center Theater and follow signs pointing west toward Amsterdam, wrapping around the north side of the Theater. At the end of this walkway, take the stairs down to the corner of Amsterdam and 65th Street, cross to the north side of 65th Street and walk east (turn right) just past the library. On your left you will see a guard booth and the elevator, stairs, and escalator. If you walk under the large black “FILM” banner, you have gone too far.
