The Juilliard Store (formerly the Juilliard Bookstore) moves to a new, expanded location at 144 West 66th Street (still between Broadway and Amsterdam), the first step toward a ‘grand opening' in early September 2010, to coincide with the next arriving class of actors, dancers, and musicians to the world-famous conservatory. The current bookstore-in-a-trailer on West 66th Street, its temporary home while Juilliard completed three seasons of construction at its Lincoln Center campus, closes on Friday, April 30. Until then, many remaining items - apparel, gifts, books, and music - are on sale at 40% - 60% savings. The new Juilliard Store will be open for preview business with CDs, DVDs, and books on Monday, May 10 at 10 AM, and new items will roll in through the summer. But look for the full opening in September with new lines of Juilliard apparel, gifts, and novelties.
The Juilliard Store hours are:
Mondays through Saturdays from 10 AM - 6 PM (closed Sundays and major holidays). American Express, MasterCard, and Visa are all accepted. Shipping by FEDEX ground is available. Express delivery also available.Web site purchases are suspended as of May 1 until the Juilliard Store's Grand Opening in September 2010.
An important part of the Juilliard community and a central component of Lincoln Center, the Juilliard Store is an outstanding resource for music-related materials, as well as selected drama and dance books. The Juilliard Store carries New York's largest selection of classical sheet music and scores, music books, and historical CDs and DVDs. Staffed by professional sales people, the store stocks more than 30,000 titles of sheet music and scores, from basic repertoire to the hard-to-find. The store also is well-stocked on books on classical music. Since the store also provides course materials for the Juilliard student body and other local music schools, a wide variety of text and technical books is available at reasonable prices.
