New Student Orientation is a week-long series of programs to welcome new students and ease their transition into the Juilliard community. It includes opportunities to meet key faculty and staff members as well as attend workshops, presentations, and evening socials that will help you acclimate to Juilliard and life at college. You'll get the chance to meet your classmates, especially those outside of your own division, and attend a wide variety of outings to explore New York City with the Orientation Leaders!

All new students are required to attend New Student Orientation. During this time, you will take placement assessments, attend division-specific meetings, learn about school policies and resources, and register for classes. A complete schedule of assessments, informational sessions and activities will be available in early August.

What about graduate students?
The Orientation schedule for graduate students is specifically designed for the graduate student experience. Workshops and presentations are designed to address the specific needs and concerns of graduate students new to Juilliard and/or New York City. A series of events and socials are planned to introduce students to their colleagues, faculty, staff, and administrators.
