The Writing and Communication Center provides academic support to all divisions of the Juilliard community and is affiliated with the Department of Interdivisional Liberal Arts. The center invites students to collaborate with peer tutors to develop skills in academic reading, writing, and public speaking. Faculty tutors are also available to undergraduates, graduate students, staff, and other faculty to assist in advanced projects. Services and activities include one-on-one tutoring sessions; videotaping and analysis of oral presentations; language proficiency services for non-English speakers; and regularly scheduled workshops on topics of relevance, such as how to write program notes, how to start a “blog,” and how to structure an academic essay. Working with the Office of Career Services, the center also provides assistance with professional materials, such as job documents and grant applications. Tutoring is available seven days a week, with limited hours on the weekends. Tutoring is scheduled by appointment only. To make an appointment, please come to the Writing Center, located on the fifth floor, and speak to an administrative assistant. For more information, send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
