About
Shana Komitee teaches theater history and theory and serves as the dramaturg for the Drama Division. After working for five years with ethnic conflict resolution groups in Northern Ireland and the Middle East, Komitee returned to the U.S. to pursue an interdisciplinary MA/PhD at Harvard in Near Eastern languages and civilizations and performance studies. She is the author of A Student’s Guide to Performance Studies and the text for the Juilliard Global Ventures Open Studios episode on Tony Kushner’s Angels in America, among other works. Komitee is a former New York City Urban Fellow and the recipient of a Wexner Fellowship and four Harvard University Derek Bok certificates of distinction for undergraduate teaching. Komitee provides dramaturgy at theaters and museums including the Williamstown Theatre Festival, the Frick Collection, WP Theater, and the Manhattan Theatre Club. She earned her bachelor’s at Yale.
