Erin O’Leary is certified to teach the Alexander Technique by the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT) and serves as a member of CATPA - the Committee for Alexander Technique in Performing Arts. She trained from 2010-2013 with John Nichols and Nanette Walsh at ATNYC. She has presented at the annual conference for Acting and Alexander Technique in New York- Freedom to Act. O’Leary has acting degrees from DePaul University (BFA) and University of Tennessee (MFA) with Jed Diamond.
Since becoming a teacher, O’Leary has worked with opera singers and instrumentalists in the School of Music at UT and with MFA actors at the Clarence Brown Theater in Knoxville (2013-15). She was mentored by Carolyn Serota and has been working with the Drama Division since 2015. She also teaches Alexander Technique at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has a private practice in Manhattan and in Brooklyn.
