Program information:
How does a composition for orchestra come into being? Join us for this inaugural event featuring young musicians from Juilliard’s Music Advancement Program (MAP) performing side-by-side with members of the New York Philharmonic as we explore three newly commissioned flexible orchestration works by Jordyn Davis, James Diaz, and Trevor Weston, from inception to world premiere.
Arrive early for YPC Overtures, on the Leon and Norma Hess Grand Promenade and Hearst Tier 1, where children can try out orchestral instruments and families can engage in crafting and interactive workshops. Activities begin at 1pm.
