Born in Kansas City, MO
Founding member, performer and assistant to the director with Joyce Trisler Danscompany. Performed with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Upon the death of Joyce Trisler, left Ailey to take over the helm of the Joyce Trisler Danscompany; left Trisler to become the resident choreographer for Philadanco. His choreography has earned him recognition and funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council, Rockefeller Foundation, Phillip Morris, Dance USA, Philadelphia Dance Alliance, and Jacob's Pillow. Teaches extensively throughout Europe, Israel, South America, Canada, and the U.S. Professional instructor for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ailey/Fordham Program. Artist in residence at North Carolina School of the Arts, Brown U., and Howard U.; director of the modern and contemporary program at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival for more than 20 years. Former faculty, N.Y.U. Tisch School, C.C.N.Y., Marymount Manhattan College, and U. of Arts in Philadelphia.
