- Baroque Cello, Historical Performance, Baroque Chamber Music
Born in Boston, MA
Performs (on an anonymous Italian cello from c. 1690) with the Arcadian Academy and the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, the Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra, the Göttingen Festspiel Orchestra, and various chamber ensembles. In 1983, joined Musica Antiqua Köln and worked with them for 10 years. Recordings for Aetma, Deutsche Grammophon, Harmonia Mundi, Telarc, Decca, and BMG. Former faculty, Hilversum Conservatory in Holland and U. of the Arts (Berlin, Germany). Current faculty, Longy School of Music (Cambridge, Mass.), where she is a founding member and co-director of the International Baroque Institute as well as director of the Harvard Baroque Chamber Orchestra at Harvard U.
Degrees and Studies
BM, MM, New England Conservatory of Music; postgraduate studies in historical performance practice with Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.
