About

Violinist Alex Shiozaki has been a member of the Momenta Quartet since 2016. With the quartet, he has held residencies at institutions such as Cornell and Brown universities, and performed internationally in festivals including Ostrava Days in the Czech Republic and the Cervantino Festival in Mexico. He also frequently appears with the New York City-based chamber ensembles Le Train Bleu, Argento Ensemble, and ACME. An active soloist as well as chamber musician, his recent and upcoming performances include appearances with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, and the AXIOM Ensemble.

Shiozaki holds a BA from Harvard College, and an MM and DMA from Juilliard. He has studied with Ronald Copes and Joseph Lin of the Juilliard String Quartet, Lynn Chang, and Robin Sharp. He is part of the summer faculty at the Interlochen Arts Camp, and has taught in the Music Advancement Program since 2016.
