About

Guitarist Mark Delpriora was born in New York City and has performed extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, South America, and Italy. He has appeared at the Stetson University Guitar Festival, Rutgers University Summerfest, and Eastman Guitarfest, and has recorded on the Philips, Koch International Classics, Cantilena Records, Tzadik, CRI, and Naxos labels. Delpriora has been a juror for international competitions including the Naumberg Competition, Guitar Foundation of America, Barrios (Sardinia) Competition, and D’Addario Concerto Competition. He has published works with Editions Orphee, Bérben Edizioni Musicali, Mel Bay, Dover, and Guitar Arts Publishing, and has written articles for Soundboard, Guitar Review, NewMusicBox, and the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. He was the composer of a set piece for the 2011 Guitar Foundation of America competition. Delpriora won the Inaugural Segovia Award for outstanding performance (Manhattan School of Music) and has been a guest teacher at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. He has been on the faculty at Juilliard since 2013 and is also on the faculty at the Manhattan School of Music. He holds both BM and MM degrees from the Manhattan School of Music.
