Jazz trumpeter Christian Jaudes was born in St. Louis, Mo. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in trumpet performance from Illinois State University and has been a Juilliard faculty member since 2005. Broadway shows he has played for include The Pajama Game, Gypsy, Flower Drum Song, Annie Get Your Gun, Ragtime, On the Town, Sunset Boulevard, Steel Pier, Cats, and Peter Pan. He was the lead trumpet player for Sammy Davis Jr., Doc Severinsen, Jerry Lewis, the Pointer Sisters, Lou Rawls, John Tesh, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Jack Jones, Shirley MacLaine, Shania Twain, Dionne Warwick, Al Hirt, Lena Horne, Burt Bacharach, Michel Legrand, Liberace, Barry Manilow, Celine Dion, Paul Anka, and many others. He has played as a soloist with the St. Louis Symphony, the New York Philharmonic, the Oklahoma City Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, Carolina Pops Orchestra, and many ensembles in the New York area. He has been a guest artist and clinician at the New York Brass Conference, the International Trumpet Guild Conference, the Brass Arts Festival (London), the International Women’s Brass Conference, and the National Trumpet Competition. His recordings include Grammy Award-winning cast albums of Annie Get Your Gun and Gypsy as well as Flower Drum Song, Ragtime, Sunset Boulevard, and Steel Pier.
