Kim Laskowski, a New York native, has been a bassoon faculty member since 2005. She has been associate principal bassoon with the New York Philharmonic since 2003 and principal bassoon of the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra since 1999. She is former second bassoon of the New York City Ballet Orchestra. She is a recipient of the Walter and Elsie Naumburg Award for Orchestral Excellence, having appeared with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, American Symphony Orchestra, Eos Orchestra, and at Tanglewood and Spoleto festivals. Laskowski holds two platinum records for albums recorded with 10,000 Maniacs and she has several albums with Music Amici. Laskowski attended the High School of Music and Art. She studied at Juilliard with Harold Goltzer and on a Fulbright Award studied at the Paris Conservatoire with Maurice Allard.
