Ronnie Oliver Jr., has been an Evening Division faculty member since 2015. He was born in Owensboro, Ky. Oliver is associate director of choral activities at Manhattan School of Music and music director of the Florilegium Chamber Choir. His past appointments include Westminster Choir College (Princeton, N.J.), Western Michigan University (Kalamazoo, Mich.), Greensboro College (N.C.), and Texas Tech University (Lubbock, Tex.). He has participated in masterclasses and clinics with Paul Salamunovich, Robert Page, Dennis Keene, Robert Shaw, and Helmuth Rilling. Oliver has appeared at Carnegie Hall several times and has conducted Fauré’s Requiem with the Masterworks Festival Chorus and New York City Chamber Orchestra there. Oliver received his B.M.E. from Murray State University and his master’s and doctorate from Texas Tech University. He studied conducting with Robert Baar, Gerald Welker, and Kenneth Davis.
