New York City-based composer Milica Paranosic was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. She has worked as a sound designer, music educator, and producer. Her compositions include concert pieces, mixed media and interactive works as well as music for dance, stage, and film. She has received grants from Meet the Composer, the American Music Center, the Soros Foundation, Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, FK-Partizan (Belgrade), and others. He work has been recorded for Bridge Records, Electroshock Records, and the New Sound. She is co-director of Composers Concordance, a New York based new music presenting organization. Paranosic is founder and executive director of Give to Grow, and education and cultural exchange project that brings technology to children in underdeveloped communities. She has been a faculty member at the 92 Street Y School since 2006 and maintains an active private teaching studio. She is co-founder of Beyond the Machine, a festival of electronic and interactive music at Juilliard. Paranosic received her bachelor’s degree from University of Arts in Belgrade and her master’s degree from Juilliard. She studied composition with Srdjan Hofman and Robert Beaser. Paranosic has been a faculty member since 1995 and manager of the Music Technology Center since 1996. She has been an Evening Division faculty member since 1996.
