Lucy Rowan Mann, the widow of Robert Mann, has generously donated the Robert Mann/Juilliard String Quartet Collection to Juilliard’s Library and Archives.

Robert Mann (Diploma ’39, violin; faculty 1946–2011) was the founding first violinist of the Juilliard String Quartet. The collection includes programs, correspondence, reviews, recordings, memorabilia, and music scores of works performed by Mann and the JSQ as well as scores of his own compositions. The collection documents Mann’s remarkable legacy with the quartet and as a teacher and mentor to generations of violinists and chamber musicians. Juilliard is enormously grateful to Lucy Mann and her family for this extraordinary donation.
