The health and safety of the Juilliard community is our first priority, and the ongoing COVID-19 situation requires all of us to commit to following the protocols collected into this Community Pledge.

Each member of our community has a responsibility to know and adhere to all safety standards, policies, and procedures.

We all must work together to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please review the Community Pledge below.

I pledge to:

  • Follow all published rules about vaccination requirements.

  • Follow all published rules about masks, which are subject to change at any time.

  • Follow all protocols and instructions for testing, self-quarantining, and contact tracing, which I know may evolve as the year progresses.

  • Frequently wash or sanitize my hands as a standard safety precaution.

  • Help maintain clean, safe spaces by wiping down frequently touched surfaces in spaces I use with supplies provided.

  • Monitor my health, be aware of symptoms, and immediately isolate and seek medical care if I develop symptoms.

  • Stay home if I am sick.

  • Immediately fill out the COVID-19 Reporting Form should I test positive, and then inform health services (students) or human resources (faculty or staff) so that Juilliard can coordinate contact tracing and provide support

  • Be vigilant when off campus—I will follow all city and state guidelines on physical distancing and mask wearing.

  • Exercise caution when taking public transportation and to follow CDC guidelines.

  • Safely connect with others and know that there are campus resources that are available to support me.

Community Standards and Compliance

This Community Pledge has been established to promote the health of our students, faculty, and staff. We fully expect that everyone on campus will understand and follow these standards and adhere to all health and safety procedures and policies regarding all Juilliard-connected activities. This Community Pledge may be updated at any time in accordance with public health information and best practices. Our primary approach to assure compliance will be through frequent communication and guidance, and we will institute enforcement measures as necessary. By signing the Student Acknowledgement form at the beginning of the semester, you are agreeing to abide by this Community Pledge.

For students, any disciplinary actions to address violations will be administered in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. Students who do not follow these standards are subject to conduct adjudication. Sanctions may include but are not limited to educational assignments, restriction from certain school activities, restriction from the Diamond Building, or removal from the residence hall.

The current environment requires us to prioritize our individual and collective safety. We all have a role to play, and we need everyone’s full participation to make this academic year as safe and successful as possible.
