Postcards From Juilliard Alums

Since leaving Juilliard, my dance journey has been a humbling exploration of diverse opportunities. From collaborating with repertory companies to navigating the freelance scene, I’ve savored the varied experiences that the dance world offers. Alongside performing, I’ve been fortunate to choreograph for a range of productions, from music videos to operas, finding deep fulfillment in crafting movement narratives.
Teaching has become a cornerstone of my career post-Juilliard, allowing me to share my passion with aspiring artists. Currently, as director of community engagement for the Portland (Oregon) Ballet, I’m committed to creating access and fostering meaningful connections between dance and the local community.
Yet my focus has also shifted toward achieving balance beyond the studio. Formerly consumed by dance alone, I’ve learned to appreciate life’s richness outside the realm of performance. This has humbled me, teaching me the importance of letting go of ego and embracing the diverse experiences life offers, from cherishing time with loved ones to pursuing hobbies and contributing to my community.
