Postcards From Juilliard Alums

At Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles last year, I played AJ in The First Deep Breath, written by Lee Edward Colston II (Group 45) and directed by Steve H. Broadnax III and I appeared in Alien/Nation, directed by Michael Arden, at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. I also filmed a supporting role on one of the final episodes of The Good Fight as well as the short film The Extenders, written by Eboni Booth (Playwrights ’20).

I’m writing this from a jazz camp in the mountains of North Carolina. I think I’m trying to understand the music and culture better. Haha, it’s going well. It should be stated—restated if it’s already posted somewhere—that I am a drama alum. My journey since graduating has been one of great learning, an education that has changed me with every lesson. Today? I’m grateful for words like “Artist as Citizen.” I am grateful to have taken part in Juilliard Jam in which students performed with other divisions. I am grateful for teachers that care. And, again, I am grateful to have spent four years at a place that taught my curiosity to fight my fear. And to do that daily. I think I like being an artist. I’m gonna keep going. There have been lots of great things on this path so far.
