Overview

The 2022 Juilliard Dance Experience has passed. Details about the next Dance Experience will be announced at a later date. If you’d like to be alerted when details are available, please email [email protected] to be added to our Dance Experience mailing list.

Juilliard welcomes dancers ages 10-18 to the inaugural Juilliard Dance Experience! This one-day in-person workshop on September 18 will give intermediate and advanced dancers the chance to experience Juilliard’s dance program and take technique classes with the Dance Division’s faculty and students. Participants will join more than 100 dancers for this inaugural day of dance.

Juilliard Dance and Juilliard K-12 Programs and Initiatives look forward to welcoming the next generation of dancers to campus. No audition is required and students of all backgrounds are invited to participate.

Detailed information about the day and scholarships is below. Questions can be emailed to [email protected].

What to Expect

In a positive and supportive environment, dancers will be grouped by age and will get an insider’s perspective of what Juilliard Dance training is like. The day begins with a welcome from the Dance Division’s dean and director, Alicia Graf Mack, followed by morning ballet and contemporary technique classes. After lunch, students will take hip-hop and improvisation before wrapping up the day with a watch party of a recent Juilliard dance performance.

Throughout the day, dancers will have the opportunity to meet and mingle with current Juilliard dance students to learn more about pursuing dance in higher education and about the life of a Juilliard dancer.

Parents will also be offered the opportunity to learn more about Juilliard Dance at an information session from our associate director of admissions for dance and drama, Larry Geddes.
